Inspire Magazine: Cover,Contents Page and Dps
Inspire Front Cover: Idea 1
I tried out a few ideas before choosing a final front cover for my music magazine to keep me on track and make my final front cover look attractive and presentable.
Inspire Front cover:Idea 2
I changed the colour of my masthead and cover lines to red because it was suitable for my RnB genre than the yellow masthead and cover lines.I also changed the font of my masthead completely
and I also changed the font because once again it suited my RnB Genre than the first.I also gave the coverlines white and black backgrounds and made the text on the red background white and the text on the white background so that it stood out.
Inspire Front Cover Idea 3:
I just took out the white and red backgrounds and made my cover lines either red or white. I've chose this idea for my front cover because it makes my magazine look more RnB genre compared to my other ideas so I just need to develop it,add a few cover lines and add the price to make my magazine look professional.
Final Front Cover
I developed my front cover idea 3 for my front cover as it suited my RnB genre compared to all my other ideas. I changed the font of my masthead as well because I asked various people what they thought of my masthead and they said they couldn't see my masthead properly. Also, I enlarged some of my cover lines and added the price of the magazine to my front cover.
Contents Page :Idea 1
This was the first idea I had for my contents page.
Contents Page:Idea 2
I changed the red text on my contents page to yellow. Even though the text stood out, it wasn't for my type of genre.
Contents Page Idea 3:
I changed the yellow text back to red on my contents page because it was suitable for my genre.

Contents Page Final
Again, I chose idea 3 for my final contents page. I added a bit of text to the side because I realised the space next to the image on the left was blank. I also changed one image on my contents page because Sammah was in an image with a group of other people and that made her look like she was in a band which she isn't in for my magazine.
Inspire Dps :Idea 1
Again, this was the first idea for my dps.
Inspire Dps: Idea 2
In Idea 2,i changed the colour of Sammah's part to red whilst in idea 2 ,the whole interview was black. I did this to add more colour to my dps.
Inspire Dps: Idea 3
In this idea, I used green and red for the interview to distinguish between Sammah and the interviewer so that it made it easy to read.
Inspire Final Double Page Spread
I didn't really choose any of my ideas for my front cover. I changed the background to red because it matches my colour scheme and makes my dps look attractive. I also changed the column arrangement because it looked better and also had the page number of my dps at the bottom.

Audience Research feedback
from my magazine proposal presentation
At first my genre was pop music but then my case studies were hip pop or R&B magazines so I have now changed my genre to R&B
At first my genre was pop music but then my case studies were hip pop or R&B magazines so I have now changed my genre to R&B
Masthead: I asked the
audience’s opinion because I was unsure about what name to use for my magazine.
Majority of the audience said I should use INSPIRE for my masthead not ROCKAZ
since these were the two names I had come up with but wasn’t sure which one to
use. The reason why the audience told me to choose INSPIRE was because they
believe it is fun and will be a good name for an R&B since that is now the genre of my music magazine. They didn’t choose ROCKAZ because
they said ROCKAZ was more suitable if the genre of my magazine was rock music .I’ve
decided to use INSPIRE for the masthead of my magazine and not only because
majority of people liked it but I liked it too.
Fonts: I chose three
fonts and asked the audience which one they thought will be appropriate for my
masthead and a huge number of them said the magneto font because they said it
was stylish, bold and clear. I’ve decided to use the Magneto font because I
think it’s really stylish and also most people have approved of it.
Layout of whole magazine: Most
of them said they liked how I had planned the layout of magazine because it was
detailed and said the layout of my music magazine was going to look organised
because of the way I had planned it.
Target Audience: Some of
the audience said that my target audience was too grown for my genre of music
because I said young people from 25 to 27 years but now I’ve reduced it to 18
years to 27 years so that young people from all stages can buy and enjoy my
magazine.

Few notes on learning how to use cameras in the photography studio
A FEW NOTES ON LEARNING HOW TO USE CAMERAS IN THE STUDIO
LIKE THE DSLR CAMERA
- There’s two backdrops when you want to take pictures in the studio and that is either white or black.
- There’s flashlights as well but fans go on and off them so that nobody burns themselves.
- There’s the softbox which softens the light.
- There are light umbrellas which prevents light from hitting the one being photographed.
- There are reflectors in gold and white to give warmth and to hide shadows reflectively.
- Always be 6 foot in front of the backdrop.
- DSLR cameras can take pictures in black and white.
- The compact camera has two settings A and S settings that is Aparture and Shutter.
- Every time you change a setting on the DSLR camera the settings change automatically.
planning of my music magazine(main task)
PLANNING FOR MY MUSIC MAGAZINE (MAIN MAGAZINE)
My model is:
Sammah Shariff
Sammah Shariff
·
· My model is going to be Sammah and she is going to be an R&B artist. She is going to be on the front cover of my magazine dressed as an R&B artist and her costume will be black so that it matches my colour scheme
since my colour scheme is black, red and gold. This is so that the layout of my magazine will be consistent.
PLAN OF COVER FOR MY MUSIC MAGAZINE:

annotations of using illustrator
I was introduced to Illustrator with the rest of the students by my teacher. First ,I learnt what all the tools on Illustrator were used for so that I will know when or when I shouldn't use them. We did this so that when we are creating the cover of our music magazines we will know how to use this program and what fonts to use and how to edit them using layers.
I learnt how to put strokes on my font and by this I could put strokes of any size on my fonts depending on how thick or thin I wanted my fonts to be. I decided to use 4 or 6 strokes on my font since I was just experimenting and I quite liked the outcome of it.
I also put outlines on my text so that I was able to move them individually and together as a group by the direct form tool select or the select tool respectively. I learnt how to use gradients on my text as well to either add a tint to the colour of my font or a shade. I also used effects on my text .I went to the warp effect and used 'squeeze and twist' because I thought it looked good on them.

Magazine newsstand task
The images
above show us magazines of different types arranged on bookshelves. As seen in
the images, the magazines are placed in a neat and pleasant order to catch the
customer’s eye. Also the magazines are placed in such a way that you can see
the mastheads clearly, This is a smart way to make money because even for some
people, looking at the masthead will attract them to buy the magazine. The
magazines are not stacked on top of each other but rather placed on the shelves
individually. The more attractive and eye-catching covers of the magazine are
placed in front of the other magazines and the top shelves. Usually, shops at
sell magazines have copies of the same magazine following each other on shelves
so that other customers can get hold of the same magazine and so that there isn’t
a limited supply of magazines.
Distribution of magazines:
Every Magazine has
a publisher for example the publisher of XXL magazine is Harris publications. These
publishers decide what they want in the magazine and even create it.Newsagents
or supermarkets are the main shops that sell magazines. Newsstands use the sale
or return system and any copies not sold are returned to the distributor with
no cost to the retailer and this was beneficial to the retailer because no wastage
or risk is involved but however it is a very wasteful and environmentally
damaging system for the publisher.
Another
distribution method is giving out free issues which are normally given out at stations
and other public places .Regular readers of the magazine can either have the
magazine posted to them usually at a discount and this encourages the audience
to buy more and more magazines. Others prefer electronic distribution and these
are delivered to the customer’s inbox or tablet.
Some magazines are
ezines which are online magazines and they are free and usually have video
clips and hyperlinks that can direct the audience to another source. The
benefits of this is that it is cheaper, saves transportation cost ,saves ink
and paper as it doesn’t have to be printed out. Now, most magazines extend
their brands with social networks like Facebook and twitter through advertisements.
